A direct flight is about 6 hours.

You have to change flights in either Miami or Texas (Dallas I think, but I get those Texas towns confused). When I went out of SFO, the flight to Miami was about five and half, and then the flight into San Jose (Costa Rica) was I believe two hours. These are just approximate figures as it has been (sigh) about three years. Pura Vida!!!!!!!

I am not sure if there are nonstop flights from sacramento but there are two international airports in costa rica. Liberia, and San Jose. Flights from Dallas, TX takes about 4 hours and flights from MIami florida takes about 5 hours. I think you have to do a stop somewhere.

Your bet bet is to fly out of San Francisco on TACA airlines. They make a stop in El Salvador and then on to COsta Rica. Total flight time is about 7 hours
