My baggage was lost in my flight?

I had a flight today to Knoxville TN and left from Sacramento CA . I had a connecting flight in Chicago Ohare INT airport. Then arrived in Knoxville, and my bag didnt arrive. I notified the airline and they said that it was in Chicago and would come in late tonight or early in the morning. It's now 1:00am est here, and I still havent heard from them. ALL my stuffs in there, what do I do? :/ I flew with United, will I get my bag back? How can I contact the airline again .

This has happened to me before. This is normal..It usually takes more time, by the time you recover your bag it could be 24-48hrs. (Ever watch Meet the Parents?) ; ) As long as you have a claim number, you should be good. They usually deliver delayed baggage to your address. Visit united's website for the customer service # to status check your bag.
