Where can i find the cheapest possible flights (under $300 preferred)?

im trying to plan a trip to austin texas from sacramento california to visit my friend. my goal is to find a ticket that is under $300 which is feeling impossible at this point... my dates of arrival and departure are May 16th and May 31st 2010. If anyone can find a ticket under 300 please let me know where!!!! i've checked everywhere (priceline expedia cheapflights cheaptickets...)

If you have flexible departure dates, there's flights for $280.90 rt including tax departing on the 17th and returning the 30th. Otherwise you may want to wait and see if the prices will come down slightly as the departure date nears.

Generally the most expensive days of the week to fly on are friday's and sunday's. Tuesday, wednesday and saturday are generally cheaper days to fly on. Also Flying on school vacation week or during a 3 day holiday weekend, such as Memorial day or Labor day. Everyone wants to leave friday right after work, and return home monday afternoon/eve. You'd be much better off leaving on saturday the 15th and returning saturday the 29th. If you have that flexibility. Hope this helps you out. Have a great trip.

I use www.targetvacations.ca/ and cheaptickets.com. You'll want to keep checking as often as you can because one day it might be really cheap and the next, that price is gone. Good luck!
