What is there to do around the Sacramento airport in the middle of the night?
On my return flight from Hawai'i to Oregon, I have an eight hour layover in Sacramento. It's from 10P till 6A. Short of renting a hotel room for the night, is there anything to do? (Not of drinking age.) Like, even just a Denny's or something to kill a couple hours. Suggestions?

Sadly, it is not like the Las Vegas airport with slot machines and lots of shops to go window shopping. In either terminal ther is not much to do. However, there is free wireless internet!

Long layover equals long book. Read.

That's not going to be a fun layover. I don't even think anything in the airport is going to be open, and it's a small airport, so not much to explore. There is a Denny's downtown, but I wouldn't suggest going to it. It would be a $30 taxi ride each way. There's an Arco station/AMPM about a mile away. Walking to that may burn an hour and a half. You can call them at (916) 564-0234 to see what their hours are.

Unfortunately, not a dang thing. The airport is pretty much in the middle of nowhere... :o( Hopefully your first flight will be delayed by a couple of hours which will make it a little more bearable. A hotel room would be your least boring option...just make sure you don't oversleep! EDIT: I wanted to add...be sure you stock up on snacks before you leave Hawaii if you choose to stay in the airport - Sac's airport shops will be closed down by the time/shortly after you get there!
