Missed my flight now on standby in the morning

Missed my flight now on standby in the morning?

So i was 5 mins late for checkins today for my flight i guess my seat was given away. the lady told me she put me on a standby list and i have to be at the counter at 430am for a 630 flight to see if i can get on. so i am new to this but if i check in my bag, and dont get on the standby flight what happens to my bag? and if my original flight had a stop in Denver before the final destination in Sacramento do i have to wait for a standby flight in Denver also? and what are my chances of getting on the one at 6am. thanks everyone.

They'll either gate check your bags if you get on, or if they've been checked in, remove them from the plane. You'll probably get on the flight, as most people don't fly that early. I'm not sure about the Denver flight; ask the gate agent.

I checked my bag like this a year ago from Chicago to New York. I missed my flight (because of stupidity). There were no seats on the next 3 flights, so I was put on stand by with 35 other people - very promising, but eventually I got a seat onr a later flight the same day.My bag has already left Chicago, I have no idea on which flight, but when I arrived at LaGuardia, my bag was waiting in the baggage claim area - lonely, scared and miserable. This is what I can tell you from my own experience. Other than that - hopefully, someone working at an airport can give you more information. Good luck tomorrow. I hope they board you

I assume you are either United or Frontier, if you are on Frontier you will go thru Denver as that is their only hub, United has more options and will put you thru DEN SFO LAX or whatever else is availavle Go to your airlines website and see what is available,
